NIH POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP AWARD
Fellowships are available through an NIH sponsored training program, NIH T32-HD007505, that focuses on the molecular and genetic basis of development and the translation of developmental principles to potential clinical applications. The Center for Organogenesis is an inter-disciplinary, university-wide program that offers students and research fellows a broad selection of mentors whose research areas encompass: model organism genetics, cellular differentiation, transcription regulation, human genetics, gene therapy, tissue remodeling, stem cell biology, neuroscience and more.
Applications deadline: October 19, 2012
NIH POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP AWARD
A Postdoctoral Fellowship award has been established through NIH support provided by the Center for Organogenesis Training Program. The goal of this NRSA Fellowship award is to provide two years of support to a postdoctoral fellow (Ph.D. and/or M.D. degree) who wishes to undertake a research project in the field of Organogenesis. The research project must cross interdisciplinary lines and must fit wthin the goals of the Center for Organogenesis as iutlined below. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens or permanent residents. This fellowship award must begin by 3/1/2013.
ORGANOGENESIS MISSION STATEMENT
The mission of the Center is to provide an infrastructure for the study of Organogenesis at the University of Michigan. The field of Organogneesis unites research in the clinical, basic science and applied arenas with a common, directed goal: To understand the basic mechanisms by which organs and tissues are formed and maintined, and to use this knowledge to create a long last artificial organs, stem cell therapies or organ transplantation systems that will correct genetic and acquired disease. The following research focus area have been defined:1. Organ Development2. Organ/Tissue Maintenance and Replacement3. Abnormal Organ Growth
